Early Years Funding
3 Year Olds
From the term after your child turns three, all children are eligible for up to 15 hours of Early Years Entitlement Funding and some are eligible for 30 hours funding:
|Date of Birth||Funding Starts|
|Before 31st March||Summer term|
|Before 31st August||Autumn term|
|Before 31 December||Spring term|
Once your child is eligible for Early Years Funding, the first 15 hours per week, up to a maximum of 570 per academic year, is free of charge to you. You do not need to apply for this funding. Anything over 15 hrs per week or over the total allowance of 570 hours per academic year will be charged at a rate of £4.16 per hour for 3 and 4 year olds (this rate is applicable for the 21-22 academic year).
Some families are eligible to have up to 30 hours funded childcare if both parents are working. If you think you may be eligible, visit www.childcarechoices.gov.uk. Families need to apply for 30 hours funding. If you are eligible, please provide us with your eligibility code and National Insurance for verification.
The hourly rate for 3 and 4 year olds above funded hours is £4.38.
2 Year Olds
The hourly rate for 2 year olds from the Spring term 2023 is £5.26.
We are a registered 2 year old funding provider; please visit www.devon.gov.uk/twoyearoldfunding. Some families may be eligible to have their childcare funded. Eligible families should automatically receive information in the post. However, to check eligibility or with any queries, please telephone Devon County Council on 0345 155 1013. Those who are eligible will receive confirmation from the council which entitles your 2 year old child to 15 hours of funded sessions. Additional hours will be charged at our standard 2 year old rate which is currently £4.70 for the academic year 21-22.
If parents do not receive a ticket from DCC they can check their eligibility for the entitlement to Early Years Funding for their 2-year-olds. Parents will need their National Insurance number, date of birth, name and child’s details. Eligibility can be checked online or by phone: 0345 155 1013
