Welcome to Class 1! Our Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 pupils are taught together in Class 1. Reception children continue their journey through the EYFS curriculum, beginning the Little Wandle programme to support early reading. Years 1 and 2 study the National Curriculum with a focus on reading, writing, maths, science and the foundation subjects. At the end of Year 1, a statutory phonics check takes place. To support your child, please read with them regularly at home, we recommend at least five times a week. In Reception and KS1, your child is entitled to a free fruit snack at break time and a free school meal. We encourage as many children as possible to make the most of this offer everyday.
