The mornings in Year 1 consists of Phonics, English, Maths lessons and guided reading, followed by mini maths and two lessons after lunch.

We continue with Little Wandle phonics, building on from the learning in reception. Specific spelling words of the week are emailed home on Mondays. These aren't formally tested in school, we hope to see the children using them within their independent writing. Guided reading takes place twice a week.
