Welcome to Year 3

The children will continue to bring a reading book home with them, chosen by them. This should be in bookbags along with their reading record book everyday as the children regularly read in school. Our class spellings will be sent home weekly.

Spelling check will take place on a Monday morning. We will also continue our weekly maths times table challenge, helping to ensure the children know their times table facts before the statutory test in Year Four.

Reading regularly at home is of paramount importance as this will have the most impact on your child’s progress across the curriculum. Reading records will be checked in school on your child’s guided reading day. Please ensure that you write in your child’s reading record book to show when they have read at home.
